Miroslav RADMAN

Researcher and cell biologist

Miroslav Radman is an eminent biologist, born on April 30, 1944 in Split, Croatia. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in experimental biology and physical chemistry at the University of Zagreb, before pursuing a doctorate at the Free University of Brussels. His academic career has taken him to prestigious positions, including Professor of Cell Biology at the Necker-Enfants malades medical school in Paris and Director of Research at the CNRS. In 2005, he founded the Mediterranean Institute of Life Sciences in Split, focusing on the multidisciplinary study of biology.

Radman is renowned for his fundamental discoveries in the field of molecular biology, notably the genetic error repair system known as “Mismatch Repair”. He has published over 200 research articles and has been awarded several scientific prizes, testifying to his influence in the field. In addition to his academic contributions, he has also been involved in international scientific initiatives and has been decorated by the governments of Croatia and France for his contributions to science.
